In 1970 and leaving at the age of 27 in 1997, she worked in agriculture until she moved to America, where she gained practical experience at Westchester Community College, later joining the workforce as a bus driver for Lakeland School District. Drita currently lives in Mahopac, Putnam County, with her children.
